Why I Started CBF

I started Code Blue Financials out of a deep passion for lifelong financial education. As I’ve grown older, I’ve come to appreciate just how much financial literacy can reduce stress, save money, and empower smarter decisions. This awareness has only deepened my desire to keep learning—and sharing what I learn with others.

Before earning my MBA, I knew almost nothing about business or finance. Graduating from business school left me with a strong foundation, but also a sense of curiosity and humility—there was still so much more to understand.

Then came medical school, where the intensity of training put my financial education on pause. Now, as a fourth-year medical student preparing for residency, I’ve returned to that passion with new energy. I began with books like The White Coat Investor, The Bogleheads’ Guide to Investing, and The Personal MBA. I also studied for and passed the Series 65 exam—the licensing exam to become a financial advisor. While I’m not currently registered or practicing as a financial advisor, I continue to build my competence and confidence in navigating real-world financial scenarios.

Though I considered pursuing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation, the experience requirements didn’t align with my medical training timeline. Instead, I created Code Blue Financials as a platform to continue learning, teaching, and growing. Through this site, I’ll share practical lessons, design modern financial education tools, and maybe even write a book one day.

As I begin residency, I’ll continue expanding both my medical and financial expertise—because I believe that everyone deserves accessible, relevant, and empowering financial knowledge.
